… I remember that Tuesday, 11 years ago, like it was yesterday. Home from work waiting on the tow truck to come puck up my car for repair. I walked past the tv and had to do a double take in disbelief at this tragic “accident”. Moments later when the 2nd plane hit, we all KNEW it was no accident. When the driver showed up he asked to see my tv. As each tower crumbled, us two strangers sat, c
ried and prayed together. When I went outside, I could see the dark cloud in the sky from the northern direction making it all even more real!! Later that day an elderly woman was walking around my division placing yellow ribbons on everything in sight. Her grandson was among the missing which we sadly discovered 2 days later, he was now among the many taken away with this senseless act. For months at work, where the towers were once a visual landmark coming over the bridge into Kearny, we could smell the aftermath of this historic day. I thank God, all of my friends and family made it home safe in NY & DC yet I continue to pray for the survivors and the victims’ families, for their lives are forever affected. WE SHALL NEVER FORGET SEPTEMBER 11, 2001!!
